Fairest (The Lunar Chronicles #3.5) by Marissa Meyer

Fairest: Levana’s Story (The Lunar Chronicles, #3.5)

222 pages
Published January 27th 2015
by Feiwel & Friends

In this stunning bridge book between Cress and Winter in the bestselling Lunar Chronicles, Queen Levana’s story is finally told.

Mirror, mirror on the wall,

Who is the fairest of them all?

Fans of the Lunar Chronicles know Queen Levana as a ruler who uses her “glamour” to gain power. But long before she crossed paths with Cinder, Scarlet, and Cress, Levana lived a very different story – a story that has never been told . . . until now. Marissa Meyer spins yet another unforgettable tale about love and war, deceit and death. This extraordinary book includes full-color art and an excerpt from Winter, the next book in the Lunar Chronicles series.

My Thoughts:

I can’t stand it. Marissa Meyer actually got me to feel sorry for the Queen. I wanted to believe she was evil to the core but as with most people things are not that cut simple. People usually start out as evil creatures. Someone or something  I can’t stand it. Marissa Meyer actually got me to feel sorry for the Queen. I wanted to believe she was evil to the core but as with most people things are not that simple. People don’t usually start out as evil creatures. Someone or something cause those people to have twisted views of what’s right.  As is the case for the Queen. A tragic event changes her views as a child along with constant abuse and neglect turns her into a heartless creature.

This book although short it packs a punch. I was so intrigued with this story that I couldn’t put it down.I felt so many emotions while reading this book. Most of all I felt compassion for the lost little girl the Queen was. She just wanted a family that loved her but her decision made that impossible for any of the things she want to happen. Even if I hadn’t read the previous books I would have been able to see where her life was headed because of all those poor decisions made on her part. Her life was filled with so much pain. I think it has made her a little insane which, by rights would have happened to anyone that had suffered the way she had.

Overall this is just an outstanding addition to an already fantastic series. A must read for the all the fans of this series.  You will not be disappointed!

My thoughts on these book that I read in February  and the ratings that I gave them on Goodreads.

Zombies Don't Cry (Living Dead Love Story, #1) I just did not find this book very good.  Although, I do want to read the next book  because of the ending and the ending alone.  That is why I am giving this book 3stars.

Graceling (Graceling Realm, #1) This was a reread for me and I have to say I enjoyed it more than I did the first time. Definitely a 5star book.

The Queen of Zombie Hearts (White Rabbit Chronicles #3)  I loved this series and each book was better than the next.  I had no choice but to give this 5stars because there was not a way to rate it higher.

Rebel Spring (Falling Kingdoms, #2) I love hearing from the many different points of view.  I always enjoy reading this series and I am anxiously waiting for the next book.  4stars all the way!

Also Known As (Also Known As, #1) This is just fun.  I enjoyed this and it definitely deserves 4stars.

Mr. Darcy's Persistent Pursuit: A Pride and Prejudice Variation  This was an alright variation  but I have read better so this is just a 3star for me.

Written in Red (The Others, #1) I am fascinated with this series.  I love all the various paranormal creatures in this series.  I don’t think I have ever read anything like this.  I had to give this 4stars.

Murder of Crows by Anne Bishop This series just keeps getting better and I can’t wait to read more. This is a solid 4star series.
