A princess must find her place in a reborn world.

She flees on her wedding day.

She steals ancient documents from the Chancellor’s secret collection.

She is pursued by bounty hunters sent by her own father.

She is Princess Lia, seventeen, First Daughter of the House of Morrighan.

The Kingdom of Morrighan is steeped in tradition and the stories of a bygone world, but some traditions Lia can’t abide. Like having to marry someone she’s never met to secure a political alliance.

Fed up and ready for a new life, Lia flees to a distant village on the morning of her wedding. She settles in among the common folk, intrigued when two mysterious and handsome strangers arrive—and unaware that one is the jilted prince and the other an assassin sent to kill her. Deceptions swirl and Lia finds herself on the brink of unlocking perilous secrets—secrets that may unravel her world—even as she feels herself falling in love.

My Thoughts:
This book was fantastic.  I found it to be full of adventure, intrigue and romance.  I didn’t want to put this book down.  The heroine really made this book for me.  I love someone who doesn’t follow the rules that are set for them and Lia is definitely one of those characters.  At times I thought the book lagged a little but nothing that took away from the story. I also loved the different perspective you get throughout the book.  Overall just an incredible read.
The Break down of the story:
This book is told from three different perspective.  First we have Lia who is a princess and she is running away from an arranged marriage.  Then we have the Prince who has decided to chase after Lia because she ran from their wedding.  Lastly, we have the assassin who is sent to kill Lia. This book has adventure, a kick ass heroine, two very interesting love interests and twist that will make your head spin.  I think it has just the right mix of every thing.
Characters:
Lia: she is a strong, very independent and  stubborn women who I loved reading her perspective – the way she handled difficult situations, and cared for others.
The Prince & The Assassin: So, at first we don’t know who is who.  Although, there are subtle clues that will help you figure it out.  Anyway, I loved them both right away. They were both very strong characters and they balanced Lia very well.  I felt each guy brought something different that the other lacked which can be hard when choosing between the two.  In the end I was leaning towards the prince for various reason but there are more books to come so only time will tell.
I Recommend:
This book is a must buy!  This will be something you want to own.  Not only is the cover beautiful but the book is something you will want to read and reread.  I am a big fan and I think this book will win other even the most skeptic of fantasy readers.
